**Job Summary**

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, answering their queries, resolving their concerns, and ensuring that their needs are met. You'll work closely with our healthcare professionals, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders to provide seamless care coordination and maximize patient satisfaction.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Obtain current patient information from established and new patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness
* Enter and update patient information in our scheduling system, maintaining up-to-date records
* Identify payer source and verify insurance eligibility, ensuring that patients receive the care they need
* Assist patients with completion of paperwork when necessary, providing clear guidance and support
* Review Scheduling System for needed updated demographics and consent forms, scheduling appointments as required
* Identify patients by date of birth and name in our computer system, creating new accounts as needed
* Schedule and reschedule appointments as necessary, ensuring that patients receive timely care
* Demonstrate superior customer service skills, responding to patient queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
* Answer telephone in a timely and polite manner, preferably within three rings, and communicate with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner
* Take messages and convey accurate information to recipients, ensuring that patients receive timely updates
* Transfer calls to physicians and nurses when medically indicated, ensuring seamless care coordination
* Protect and observe patient confidentiality per policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of data security
* Import registration documents into patient's electronic health record, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
* Follow up on outstanding A/R, including self-pay and/or denials, to ensure maximum payment and client profitability
* Handle all correspondence related to insurance or patient accounts, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to resolve issues and achieve client profitability
* Work with EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports, to ensure accurate and timely payment

**Essential Qualifications**

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
* 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records
* Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a remote team

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
* Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and scheduling systems
* Certification in customer service, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Customer Service Manager (CCSM)
* Experience working with insurance carriers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers
* Familiarity with EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports
