Experienced Remote Call Center Pharmacist – Clinical Support Specialist for Adherence-Based Programs

Job Overview
As a Call Center Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our patients through our adherence-based programs. You will utilize various software applications to engage with patients via live interactions, offering one-on-one clinical support, patient counseling, and education to help manage their condition. You will work closely with internal colleagues and CVS Pharmacy teams to support patients with functional needs, as well as provide tailored support throughout the patient's journey. Your goal will be to help patients maintain their prescribed treatment routine as outlined by their healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities

Lead outbound calls to patients who qualify for adherence-based programs, ensuring timely and reliable communication (e.g., offer one-on-one support for patients who couldn't fill their prescription due to a stock shortage, patients who are non-adherent to medications, etc.)
Address patient concerns, investigate issues, and provide appropriate resolutions, ensuring patient satisfaction and program success
Identify clinical support needs and escalate calls to Pharmacists in the team to further discuss concerns, such as medication adherence barriers or clinical-related challenges faced by patients, enabling timely intervention and resolution
Use CVS systems and guidelines to manage patient medication requests within HIPAA regulations and enter refill orders for processing
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless patient support and resolve any issues that may arise
Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and provide exceptional customer service


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:

A degree in Pharmacy (PharmD or BS in Pharmacy)
Current licensure as a Pharmacist in the United States
Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy setting
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and disease management
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Experience in a call center or telepharmacy setting
Knowledge of CVS systems and guidelines
Certification in a relevant area, such as Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP)
Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software applications
