About the Role We are currently seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to develop and teach online courses for our exciting new programs in Animal-Assisted Therapy, Animal Training, and Animal Care and Behavior. As a Remote Adjunct - Online Animal Course Developer and Instructor, you will be a content expert who focuses on providing an elite educational experience for learners to improve their skill level and knowledge. You will work closely with instructional designers, leadership, and the assessment team to define expectations throughout the course build process, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education. Key Responsibilities Develop and teach online courses in Animal-Assisted Therapy, Animal Training, and Animal Care and Behavior, utilizing expertise in areas such as Human-Animal Bond, Animal Behavior, Emotional Support and Service Animals, and Animal Cognition Collaborate with instructional designers, leadership, and the assessment team to define expectations throughout the course build process Utilize LMS software, preferably Canvas, to design and deliver online courses Effectively communicate subject matter to students, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of course material Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Commit to providing innovative and engaging online education, with a focus on student success and satisfaction Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: A master's degree in a relevant discipline, with a doctorate preferred Prior online course design experience in higher education, with experience using LMS software Demonstrated expertise and professional experience in areas such as Animal-Assisted Therapy, Animal Training, and Animal Care and Behavior Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Commitment to providing innovative and engaging online education, with a focus on student success and satisfaction Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate subject matter to students Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching online courses in higher education, with a focus on Animal-Assisted Therapy, Animal Training, and Animal Care and Behavior Knowledge of adult learning theory and online pedagogy Experience with instructional design and curriculum development Familiarity with Canvas or other LMS software Strong technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Husson University, we are committed to the growth and development of our faculty and staff.
