Job Overview and Responsibilities We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our inpatient psychiatric unit team. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care, comfort, and security to our patients and their families during their most vulnerable times. This hybrid role offers flexibility, allowing you to balance your time between our remote office and home. Your responsibilities will include: Providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with psychiatric and substance abuse disorders Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team Administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and reporting any concerns to the medical staff Conducting thorough assessments, documenting patient information, and maintaining accurate records Participating in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in psychiatric nursing Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and transition planning Maintaining a safe and supportive environment that prioritizes patient care and well-being Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess: A current license to practice nursing in Massachusetts (or be eligible to receive or renew) A strong foundation in psychiatric nursing, with experience in inpatient settings preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and promoting a culture of safety and respect Basic life support (BLS) certification and ability to obtain crisis prevention intervention (CPI) certification Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, experience with electronic medical records, and certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you should possess: Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities Excellent time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on patient-centered care Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Arbour Hospital and UHS, we are committed to supporting your career growth and development.
