Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Standards Data Analyst to join our team as an intern. As a key member of the Quality Control Strategies and Guidelines Group, you will play a vital role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical trends and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. This is a remote work-from-home opportunity, with the possibility of working on-site at our corporate campus in Dallas, TX, for certain events and activities. Key Responsibilities Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team in timely data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data elements Help create and present results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical stakeholders and leaders Assist in investigating critical ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging support issues and provide analytical responses to enable senior management to make informed business decisions while balancing existing project responsibility Presentation of insights, trends, and potential recommendations using data visualization tools to facilitate stakeholder understanding Help create and deliver specific queries to pull and integrate data from various sources, establishing the cadence, and validating the necessity of the data requirements Identify irregularities in processes through audits/surveys and communicate findings to the team Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and procedures by monitoring for trends and discrepancies Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the center of every decision May perform other work duties as directed by the Team Leader Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze critical amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal Ability to assess business issues, identify opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics Proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred Ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning Preferred Qualifications Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework experience is preferred Ability to work effectively in a strong support/team-oriented environment Ability to commit to responsibilities independently and be a self-motivated individual Past internship experience in a related field is preferred Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Southwest Airlines, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth, development, and learning.
