Job Overview The Provider Data Entry Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of provider demographic and contract affiliation information within our health plan system. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, efficiency in processing incoming requests, and a strong understanding of healthcare data management principles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for receiving provider information from external sources, validating the data, and accurately entering it into our computer system. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing claims adjudication, supporting system integration efforts, and maintaining the highest standards of data quality. Key Responsibilities Receive and validate provider information from external sources to ensure accuracy and integrity. Accurately enter and maintain provider records in the computer system, emphasizing precision and timeliness. Conduct regular audits of loaded provider records to ensure quality and financial accuracy, providing documented feedback when necessary. Support system and health plan integration efforts, including training existing staff and new hires. Assist in system-related testing activities to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be considered for this position, you must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED, along with at least 1+ years of managed care experience and/or medical office experience with coding or credentialing experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as adherence to Managed Care Organization's policies and confidentiality requirements. You must also be able to maintain reliable attendance based on the agreed-upon schedule and demonstrate understanding and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office setting working in provider credentialing or a related position. Strong knowledge of healthcare data management principles, including claims, coding, and credentialing. Experience with system integration and testing activities. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships.
