About Us Music Ministry International is a leading provider of music services to the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story in Virginia Beach, VA. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality music experiences that inspire and uplift the community. We are seeking an experienced Protestant Worship Leader Pianist or Guitarist to join our team and lead our music ministry in Contemporary Worship. Job Summary We are looking for a skilled and passionate Protestant Worship Leader Pianist or Guitarist to lead our music ministry in Contemporary Worship. The successful candidate will have a strong background in planning, directing, teaching, leading, and supporting a Contemporary Worship program in a church environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of specialized experience in Contemporary Worship Performance and Leadership and program management. Key Responsibilities Lead and rehearse all volunteer musicians, including adult and children's choirs and other instrumental ensembles, vocalists, and instrumental soloists. Recommend relevant musical selections to the Officiating Chaplain; lead the congregation in appropriate worship music with or without the support of a choir and/or praise team. Train choir and/or praise team members for performance. Develop rapport, and promote teambuilding within the Protestant congregation, choirs, praise teams, and/or other groups. Provide music for special services, including but not limited to Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, and memorial services. Plan and provide music for special events, not to exceed 10 units per year, in coordination with the Command Chaplain. Submit all requests for supplies and music to the Command Chaplain as necessary. Provide a pre-approved substitute when unable to perform services required as depicted in this Performance Work Statement (PWS) at no additional cost to the government. Submit a quarterly report to the Government Point of Contact, including but not limited to the estimated number of worship services, and/or special services performed. Essential Qualifications Minimum of three years of specialized experience in Contemporary Worship Performance and Leadership and program management. Ability to play a variety of instruments used to lead Contemporary Worship, including piano and guitar. Clear understanding of Navy organization and the pluralistic ministry requirements that affect the use of chapel facilities and staff. Instrumental and vocal music skills in both direction and performance, including the ability to play a variety of worship music styles. Ability to recommend relevant musical selections to the Officiating Chaplain; lead the congregation in singing with or without the support of a choir and/or a praise team. Ability to develop rapport, and promote teambuilding within the Protestant congregation, choirs, praise teams, and/or other groups. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Music or Choral. Experience in planning, directing, teaching, leading, and supporting a Contemporary Worship program in a church environment. Ability to play a variety of instruments used to lead Contemporary Worship, including piano, guitar, and other instruments. Clear understanding of Navy organization and the pluralistic ministry requirements that affect the use of chapel facilities and staff. Instrumental and vocal music skills in both direction and performance, including the ability to play a variety of worship music styles.
