About the Role The Part-Time Statistics Analyst I is a remote job opportunity within blithequark's Details and Analysis group. As a Statistics Analyst I, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of sports data disseminated across various blithequark platforms, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, blithequark.com, Fantasy, and Game Cast. You will work with automated data feeds and utilize manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of precise, timely, and insightful games data. Key Responsibilities Ensure sports data disseminated by Details and Data is precise, timely, and insightful. Work individually and in groups to deliver accurate detailed breakdown, clock-and-score, and other statistics and data in real-time that power various blithequark products and productions. Create and maintain a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling blithequark digital products and television productions. Check the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high attention to detail. Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full- and part-time staff. Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and provide possible solutions. Communicate quickly and unequivocally with colleagues on these issues. Play a proactive role in working with colleagues in developing or refining production processes. Be an active participant in team and division meetings. Seek and respond to feedback around personal performance. Remain informed about current office policies and procedures. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games. Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (solely), weekends, and events. The ability to rapidly learn production processes that produce and/or maintain sports data that drives blithequark's digital and television products. The capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances. The ability to communicate self-assuredly - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, frequently through the noise of a busy newsroom. A Bachelor's degree or higher. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly preferred: 1+ years of experience working in sports and/or statistics, ideally in media. Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes. Working knowledge of blithequark products and productions. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products. Experience leading or training a team. The ability to speak and write Spanish. Experience using social media in a business or news environment.
