Requirements to Drive with Uber
To become a part-time ride sharing driver with Uber, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
A Valid UK Driver's Licence:** You'll need a valid UK driver's licence (EU driver's licence needs to be converted to UK driver's licence before onboarding).
Private Hire Licence:** You'll need a private hire licence from a licensing authority such as a council. If you don't have one, we'll help you get started with a personalised Ignition appointment.
Age:** You must be at least 21 years of age to apply for your private hire licence, as required by the UK government.
Driver Profile Photo:** You'll need to take a driver profile photo at our Greenlight Hub.
EduMe Course:** You'll need to complete the EduMe Course, a virtual onboarding course that helps you familiarise with the Uber app and its features.
Driving Experience:** The required years of driving experience will vary depending on the city you are based in.
Additional Information
If you have previous employment experience in transportation, you might consider driving with Uber to earn extra money. We also welcome drivers who have worked with other peer-to-peer ridesharing or driving networks.
