**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Order Entry / Customer Service Assistant to join our team in Richmond, IN. This role will play a vital part in ensuring excellent service standards by processing orders, preparing related paperwork, and maintaining a high level of accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with our Management, Shipping, and Production departments, as well as third-party LTL carriers, to ensure a smooth and efficient shipping process. As a backup for our Customer Service team, you will also be responsible for answering phone calls and providing general support to our representatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Contribute to team effort by accomplishing department goals
* Accurately enter data into a variety of computer programs
* Maintain filing system
* Provide general support to customer service representatives and management
* Assist in maintaining customer records
* Answer phone calls
* Perform other duties as required
**Essential Qualifications**
* Previous office experience is preferred
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel with ability to learn other programs
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organization skills
* Excellent phone skills
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Mathematical skills – above average, quick mathematical skills are required
* Strong reasoning ability
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Previous experience in a customer service or order entry role
* Knowledge of funeral products and services
* Experience working with third-party LTL carriers
