About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pharmacist to join our remote team. As a key member of our healthcare services team, you'll be responsible for providing expert patient care, counseling, and education on medication use, as well as performing various clinical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities Patient Experience: Engage with patients, respond to their inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. Model and promote customer service best practices, demonstrating empathy, inclusivity, and a patient-centric approach. Proactively offer services and support to patients, enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction with Walgreens. Clinical and Administrative Tasks: Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and contraindications, and refer to healthcare providers as needed. Perform pharmacist duties, including compounding, medication therapy reviews, and prescription management. Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims, resolving patient issues and preventing payment denials. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions, recommend alternative medications, and address questions or concerns. Leadership and Team Management: Support the Pharmacy Supervisor in staff hiring, training, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting a shared vision and recognizing colleague achievements. Professional Development and Quality Improvement: Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices. Pursue ongoing education, training, and certification, as required by the organization and regulatory agencies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Essential Qualifications BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the region. Experience performing prescription dispensing activities, demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant state and federal controlled substance laws. Certified Immunizer or ability to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance.
