About the Role We are seeking a Part-Time Online Visiting Professor to teach in our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, specifically for the course NR-706: Healthcare Informatics & Information Systems. As a visiting professor, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and experience with students who aspire to succeed in the field of healthcare informatics. This 100% online teaching position offers flexibility and convenience, allowing you to make a meaningful impact from the comfort of your own space. Key Responsibilities Inspire students to complete their programs by providing regular, meaningful feedback about their academic performance, development, and participation, while encouraging them to engage fully in their education. Engage students in meaningful asynchronous threaded discussions at least 4 days per week, moderating participation, evaluating responses and rationales, and responding to questions or comments. Evaluate academic progress and comprehension of course content through assignments and discussions. Exhibit Chamberlain Care by displaying behaviors of care, respect, and professionalism, creating a culture that fosters collaboration, cooperation, and respect among all. Be readily available to meet the needs of a diverse student body, identifying and embracing opportunities to enhance student engagement. Bring your professional experience to life through professional development, introducing industry perspective into courses, and sharing information about nursing trends and opportunities with students. Promote student success by demonstrating flexibility in style, schedule, and exhibiting your passion for teaching, devoting time and energy to improve scholarly excellence and subject matter expertise. Foster a positive learning environment by maintaining accurate records, submitting grades on time, and enforcing academic policies. Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions, for preparing the course and making it accessible to students. Model effective communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning. Essential Qualifications MSN and DNP or PhD in Nursing degree is required. Must have an active nursing license (Compact/Multi-State RN License preferred). 2+ years of graduate-level teaching experience required. Recent healthcare informatics experience (past 5 years) outside of the academic environment required. Nursing informatics or other related certifications highly preferred. Online teaching experience required. Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses. Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills, familiar with APA. Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment. Solid written skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in an online environment are a must. Preferred Qualifications Experience with online learning management systems and educational technology. Knowledge of adult learning theory and online pedagogy. Experience with curriculum development and assessment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
