About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Music Teacher - Piano to join our team of dedicated educators. As a Music Teacher - Piano, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical journey of our students, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and appreciation of music. You will be responsible for teaching music theory, sight-reading, memorization, and improvisation techniques, as well as incorporating digital pianos and other technology into your lessons. Your expertise and passion for music will inspire and motivate our students to achieve their best, both individually and collectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach music theory, sight-reading, memorization, and improvisation techniques to students of varying skill levels and ages
Incorporate digital pianos and other technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning
Record lessons to enable students to identify areas for improvement and track their progress
Prepare concert items for school and district performances, including the Winter and Spring Concerts, recitals, exams, and other events
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement music curriculum and programs that align with school and district goals
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Stay up-to-date with best practices in music education and incorporate innovative approaches into your teaching


Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field
A valid teaching certification or license in Music Education
Proven experience in teaching music, preferably in a school setting
Excellent knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, memorization, and improvisation techniques
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
Proficiency in using digital pianos and other music technology


Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

A master's degree in Music Education or a related field
Experience in teaching piano and other musical instruments
Knowledge of music software and technology, such as recording and editing programs
Experience in directing school concerts, recitals, and other musical events
Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents from diverse linguistic backgrounds
