Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and innovative individual to join our team as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative. As a crucial member of our public service team, you will interact directly with the public, examining documentation presented for required information and validity to ensure that customers are issued the proper credentials or vehicle information. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, explaining policies, statutes, and regulations to customers, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Examine documentation presented for required information and validity to ensure that customers are issued the proper credentials or vehicle information Interact directly with the public, explaining policies, statutes, and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service Process customer transactions, including handling cash, checks, and credit card payments, and returning change accurately Enter information into multiple databases and correspond clearly with customers and internal stakeholders via email and phone Work independently, finding efficiencies, making decisions, and solving minor problems Rotate weekly between processing customers in the lobby and working the information station Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism and friendliness while handling a wide range of situations and demographics. You will have experience with cash handling and keyboarding skills, accurately and efficiently entering information into multiple databases and corresponding clearly with customers and internal stakeholders. You will be able to multi-task, reviewing documents, data entering information, and communicating verbally with customers in a loud, open-concept office setting. Preferred Qualifications Six months of employment experience that included cash handling and working directly with clients or customers Six months of office clerical employment experience providing information to clients, customers, or the general public on services, procedures, and requirements Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience Ability to work independently, finding efficiencies, making decisions, and solving minor problems Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple responsibilities.
