Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one tutoring services to high school students in higher-level math subjects, including Algebra 2, PAP Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus Develop and implement personalized tutoring session plans, tailored to each student's needs and learning style Assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust instruction accordingly Utilize knowledge of the TEKS and local curriculum to inform instruction and ensure alignment with state standards Establish a positive and supportive learning environment, fostering student engagement and motivation Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular progress updates and recommendations for continued support Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field (preferred) Teacher certification or experience in teaching/tutoring (preferred) Strong understanding of local curriculum and TEKS Minimum of 1 year of experience in teaching and/or tutoring Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to create personalized tutoring session plans and adapt to individual student needs Strong typing, PC, and recording skills Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 30 minutes to student locations Preferred Qualifications: Full-time or part-time teaching experience, preferably as a certified teacher Experience working with students with special needs or learning challenges Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools Strong organizational and time management skills Skills and Competencies: Strong math knowledge and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educators Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing student needs Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Tutor Doctor Pearland, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our tutors.
