Key Responsibilities Teach students in grades K-12 according to their customized learning plans, helping them to catch up, keep up, and get ahead in math. Assist students with homework completion and provide test preparation support, including SAT and ACT. Develop a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to take risks, ask questions, and explore mathematical concepts. Utilize Mathnasium's proprietary curriculum and teaching strategies to deliver high-quality instruction. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in math education. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and student-centered approach. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful as a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will need: Strong math proficiency up to Algebra; proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred. Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (material from 2nd grade and up). Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (3-4 hours per shift) in the afternoons after 3 pm. Clear record on a state and national background check. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Patient, flexible, and adaptable approach to working with students of varying ages and skill levels. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued: Previous experience teaching or tutoring math, particularly in a K-12 setting. Strong understanding of Mathnasium's teaching method and curriculum. Ability to work with students who have diverse learning needs and styles.
