As a Mail Handling Technician, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and distributing letters, packages, and documents according to federal regulations and guidelines. You will also provide excellent customer service, perform clerical duties, and facilitate postage transactions. Key Responsibilities Mail Handling: Receive, sort, and distribute letters, packages, and documents according to federal regulations and guidelines. Assistance Provision: Offer excellent customer service by helping customers with their mailing requirements and addressing any issues promptly. Clerical Duties: Perform administrative tasks to contribute to the seamless running of USPS operations. Postage Transactions: Facilitate the buying process for stamps and other mailing essentials to enhance customers' postage transactions. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent qualification. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards. Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with customers. Basic knowledge of mail processing and delivery procedures. Preferred qualifications include: Previous experience in a mail processing or delivery environment. Knowledge of USPS policies and procedures. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy mailbags and packages.
