Experienced, licensed US CPA needed for Business Tax Preparation and Advisory Role to the owner.
What I am looking for:
I'm a small business owner running several businesses in the State of Illinois. I also have business interests internationally. I’m looking for a qualified, licensed, and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to handle oversight of my businesses, and my personal finances, providing accurate and reliable advice, with pro-active tax planning. As I have a reliable bookkeeper who maintains the business monthly/yearly accounting in QBO, this role will work with me to structure the companies properly, with pro-active tax advice and support, advising myself and my bookkeeper on issues that need your expertise.
This role is important because I need someone who can ensure full compliance with tax authorities, minimize tax liabilities where possible, provide clear financial insights, and help me make better business decisions without me having to micromanage the numbers.
Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and filing of any/all tax filings, including all personal taxes.
Tax planning and advisory to optimize deductions and compliance
Forecasting and audit preparation.
Ad-hoc advice on financial matters as needed
Be able to Attest in Illinois.
Representation if audited.
Project Details:
Duration: 3-6 month initial contract with potential for extension
Hours/Commitment: 10 hours per month to start
Start Date: May 2026
Tools/Software: Experience with QuickBooks Online, whatever tax app you use
Active CPA license in the US.
Strong knowledge of current US tax laws and compliance requirements
Some knowledge of international tax law would be very helpful
Excellent communication skills — Professional, courteous, and written so lay people can understand.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive
