The role will involve transcribing depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings with a strong focus on attention to detail. Familiarity with legal terminology and excellent grammar is essential. You will process audio recordings while adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts.
Independent contractors at VIQ Solutions have the flexibility to set their own schedule, with guidance available from our supportive in-office team when needed. Work is available 24/7/365, making it ideal for those with weekend availability.
Skill Requirements
Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required.
Excellent listening skills.
Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to collaborate remotely.
Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
Ability to process extreme audio/text content (content may be offensive).
Ability to pass a background check.
Familiarity with legal terminology.
Court reporting students will also be considered.
