**Experienced Intervention Tutor – Reading, Writing, and Mathematics Remediation Specialist for Avon Public Schools**

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Intervention Tutor to join our team, providing high-quality instruction and support to students in reading, writing, and mathematics. As an Intervention Tutor, you will play a critical role in helping students overcome academic challenges and achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students in reading, writing, and mathematics, using evidence-based strategies and techniques to address identified areas of weakness. Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student, incorporating data-driven instruction and assessment to inform instruction. Collaborate with certified teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services, promoting a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Maintain accurate records and data on student progress, using technology and other tools to track student growth and inform instruction. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in reading, writing, and mathematics remediation, and to enhance your skills and knowledge as an Intervention Tutor. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in reading and mathematics remediation. Proper Connecticut teaching certification (Elementary Education) or equivalent. Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with a specialization in reading and mathematics remediation. Experience working with students who have identified learning disabilities or other special needs. Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and techniques, including differentiated instruction and technology integration. Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment, including the use of technology to track student progress.
