Job Summary We are seeking an experienced international freight forwarding professional to join our team as an ocean product development and strategy implementation specialist. In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Director of Ocean to support carrier development, pricing, and service analysis, as well as sales and operations as an ocean subject matter expert. Your primary objective will be to implement and communicate strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network. Key Responsibilities Implement and communicate strategies to increase ocean volumes and maximize competitiveness Support carrier development, pricing, and service analysis, including analyzing carrier performance and routing Assist in implementing pricing programs and reviewing volume targets to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement Communicate internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and deliverables, working closely with the Managing Director of Ocean, global trade lane team, sales, and operations Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity, submitting reports as required Manage annual budget, controlling, monitoring, and reporting results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing. Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus. You should also be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with a business-oriented mindset and remarkable business acumen.
