About the Role As a General Merchandise Coach at Walmart, you'll play a vital role in driving the success of our store operations. You'll lead and develop high-performing teams, drive sales growth, and ensure seamless execution of company initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead and Develop Teams: Teach, train, and mentor associates to achieve business objectives and drive sales growth. Tour stores, provide feedback, and communicate effectively with all levels of associates. Exceptional Customer Service: Model and demonstrate the One Best Way (OBW) service model, manage customer service initiatives, and ensure customer needs are met. Drive Financial Performance: Review and evaluate P&L statements, manage budgeting and forecasting, and control expenses to achieve sales and profit goals. Supervise and Develop Hourly Associates: Hire, train, and mentor associates, assign duties, and provide recognition to drive associate engagement and retention. Coordinate and Complete Job-Related Activities: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support plans and initiatives, and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure Compliance and Integrity: Implement company policies and procedures, utilize the Open Door Policy, and provide direction on applying company values and standards. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum qualifications: 2 years' of college; OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
