Job Summary We are seeking an experienced RN Professor to lead our nursing programs, including Traditional BSN, RN-BSN, MSN Master's Entry to Nursing Practice (MENP), and MSN Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). As a full-time faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach across multiple programs, using various delivery modalities, including hybrid and online courses. Our faculty enjoy a flexible schedule, with no summer classes for Traditional BSN and optional summer teaching for MSN programs. Key Responsibilities: Provide classroom and clinical instruction to students in Sentara's health science programs Develop and implement interactive and innovative teaching-learning strategies in both on-ground and online courses Support the development of faculty in both classroom and clinical settings Offer student tutoring, advising, and support as needed Participate in department and college committees as assigned Collaborate with the community to support and facilitate research, and keep current in evidence-based research related to teaching and clinical instruction Requirements: Essential Qualifications: Master's level degree in nursing, nursing education, or education Active Registered Nurse license in one of the following states: Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, or Other/National 5 years of recent acute care experience 3 years of teaching experience in a BSN or allied health program Strong communication, critical thinking, and instructing skills Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree in nursing or education Experience with curriculum development and implementation Familiarity with D2L (Brightspace) and lecture capture tools Skills and Competencies: Active learning and active listening Effective communication and writing skills Critical thinking and problem-solving Instructing and teaching strategies Learning strategies and curriculum development Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Sentara College of Health Sciences, we are committed to the growth and development of our faculty.
