About the Role: 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist We are seeking a compassionate and experienced 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist to join our remote team. As a critical member of our crisis response team, you will handle incoming chat and text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. Your expertise will help individuals in emotional distress receive the support they need. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis. Respond to crisis contacts via chat/text platform to assess for suicide risk, safety, and identify community resources. Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide. Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards and actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings. Assist with administrative tasks as needed. Requirements and Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required. Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is also an asset. Experience: While not mandatory, six months to one year of related crisis experience is preferred. Skills and Competencies: Effective communication via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods. High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette. Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention. Ability to provide service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and community resources.
