About the Position We are seeking an experienced and dynamic faculty member to join our College of Arts & Sciences as a Lecturer in Biology (Neuroscience). This is a one-year renewable contract position with the potential for promotion to higher non-tenure-track ranks. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate biology courses, including human anatomy and physiology, and developing scholarly research programs that engage undergraduates. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate biology courses, including human anatomy and physiology, in a dynamic and engaging manner. Develop and implement scholarly research programs that engage undergraduates in the field of neuroscience. Contribute to the development of the Biology program and participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives. Advise and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits. Participate in departmental and university-wide service activities, including committee work and professional development. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field of biology and neuroscience. Essential Qualifications PhD in Biology or a related field in the biological sciences (ABD considered). Significant teaching and post-doctoral experience in the field of biology and neuroscience. Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Ability to develop and implement scholarly research programs that engage undergraduates. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching human anatomy and physiology courses. Experience with curriculum development and program assessment. Experience with grant writing and research funding. Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
