Key Responsibilities: Teach a 3/3 load of introductory and intermediate-level courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and/or econometrics in a large class environment Work collaboratively with a team of instructors to develop and deliver high-quality educational experiences for students Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote academic success Contribute to the development of curriculum and course materials Participate in departmental and university-wide events, including academic and professional development opportunities Demonstrate a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics or a related field by the appointment date Strong teaching record, with experience teaching large classes Ability to effectively communicate complex economic concepts to students at various levels Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the academic environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with curriculum development and course design Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of economic theory and applications Excellent teaching and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to ongoing professional development Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: Penn State University is committed to providing opportunities for professional growth and development for its faculty members.
