Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the development of key services and systems that power Disney Streaming's customer experiences. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering team, driving a culture of ownership and excellence, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities


Team Leadership: Build and maintain a high-performing software engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, and career development.
Technical Vision: Provide technical leadership and vision for applications and tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to prioritize work, set goals, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Engineering Excellence: Refine engineering practices, maintain operational excellence, and drive innovation in software development.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities.

Requirements


Experience: 3+ years of engineering management experience and 3+ years of software engineering experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, with a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.).
Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud infrastructure and deploying web services.
Testing: Experience with unit testing and test-driven development processes.
Leadership: Experience in engaging diverse talent, building and leading teams.
