**Key Responsibilities**
* Design and build large-scale data systems using a variety of technologies, including cloud-based platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes
* Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
* Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them grow and develop their skills
* Peer review code and provide feedback to ensure high-quality development practices
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve our systems and processes
**Essential Qualifications**
* 3+ years of non-temporary position experience in software development, with a focus on data engineering
* 3+ years of experience in designing and building large-scale data systems, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines
* Experience with at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or C++
* Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality principles
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
**Preferred Qualifications**
* 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding guidelines, code reviews, source control management, build cycles, testing, and deployment
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* Experience with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS or Azure
* Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or Apache Flink
* Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles, with experience in implementing data security measures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
