The Position
We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Senior Technical Designer to join our team at arenaflex. As a Senior Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in helping us develop a brand-new, AAA, multi-platform game. You will partner closely with the layout team to implement features and content in a clever, sturdy, and pragmatic way, acting as a pressure multiplier to extend the capability and ability of the layout crew.

Responsibilities
Leverage your UE knowledge to assist and teach other designers
Raise the technical capability and rigor of the design team through promoting correct practices
Proactively seek out workflow and device upgrades
Assist designers troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
Implement strong, maintainable content and features in Unreal/Blueprint
Write design specs, vet them with stakeholders, and make clever changes
Essential Qualifications
Expert knowledge of Unreal Engine and its capabilities (esp. Blueprint, UMG, Animation Blueprint, Gameplay Framework)
Foundations of 3D math
Good-sized programming skills with C++
2+ years of experience in a technical design position
1+ shipped titles in Unreal
Experience delivering great multiplayer games
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
A passion for game development, incubating, building, and shipping video games
Preferred Qualifications
Programming experience in Python, C#, and/or Lua
Art and animation skills useful for early gameplay prototypes (e.g. the ability to model, rig, and animate simple placeholder meshes)
