Job Overview The successful candidate will be part of the Middle Frameworks organization team, responsible for designing and developing the next generation of network frameworks. The team's primary focus is on creating and updating the operating system components that integrate across Apple's range of products, including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS. As a Networking Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Apple's network infrastructure and ensuring the seamless integration of various devices and systems. Key Responsibilities Design and develop network frameworks and protocols, including programming interfaces, APIs, and network interfaces Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of network components across various Apple products Work on optimizing network performance, efficiency, and security, balancing competing factors such as execution, efficiency, comfort, and security Develop and maintain business-critical software and hardware products, utilizing programming languages such as C, C++, or Objective-C Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP and related network technologies, including IPv6, to design and implement network protocols and interfaces Conduct network analysis and troubleshooting, using tools such as network sniffers and protocol analyzers Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field Strong programming skills, including experience with C, C++, or Objective-C programming languages In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and related network technologies, including IPv6 Experience with network analysis and troubleshooting tools, such as network sniffers and protocol analyzers Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with WiFi switch concepts, OpenWRT, and IP routing concepts and protocols Knowledge of BSD/Linux kernel network stack and network interface development Familiarity with Apple operating systems, including macOS and iOS, and development experience with these platforms Experience with remote network technologies and protocols, including Wi-Fi and cellular networks Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At Apple, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
