Our Data Ventures team is a nimble startup incubated within arenaflex, building a suite of data products that provide actionable, customer-centric insights and help our traders and associates make better business decisions on an omni-channel 360-degree performance. **Key Responsibilities** As a Staff Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for leading our data science efforts, focusing on Customer Data Science initiatives that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities will include: * **Data Source Identification**: Identify the most relevant data sources to support business initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements and service level agreements. Perform preliminary data quality checks and review deliverables from junior team members. * **Problem Formulation**: Analyze business problems and challenge assumptions to help the organization understand the root cause. Identify and recommend solutions, setting data analytics, big data analytics, and automation goals and deliverables based on setup achievement standards and outlining key metrics to measure progress and effectiveness. * **Analytical Modeling**: Select suitable modeling strategies for complex problems with large-scale, multiple structured and unstructured data sets. Develop variables and features iteratively based on model responses in collaboration with the business. Conduct exploratory data analysis activities (e.g., basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences) on to-be-had data. Identify dimensions and designs of experiments and create test and research frameworks. Interpret data to identify trends to move across future data sets. Create continuous, online learning models including iterative model enhancements. Develop newer strategies (e.g., advanced machine learning algorithms, vehicle mobile ML) by leveraging the latest developments in machine learning, artificial intelligence to teach algorithms to use models on new data sets. Guide the team on feature engineering, experimentation, and advanced modeling strategies for use on complex problems with unstructured and multiple data sets (e.g., streaming data, raw text data). * **Model Deployment & Scaling**: Ability to work with MLOps to push ML models to production. Continuously log and track model behavior once deployed against the described metrics. Identify model parameters that may need adjustments based on the scale of deployment. * **Code Development & Testing**: Write code to develop the specified solution and application capabilities by identifying the right programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. Create test cases to learn and validate the proposed solution design. Create proofs of concept. Test the code using the right testing method. Contribute code documentation, maintain playbooks, and provide timely development updates. * **Applied Business Acumen**: Evaluate proposed business cases for projects and initiatives. Influence business stakeholder decision-making. Translate business requirements into strategies, projects, and initiatives and align them to business method and goals and drive the execution of deliverables. Build and articulate the business case and go back on investment and grant work that has demonstrable value. Challenge business assumptions on subjects related to one's area of expertise. Develop new organization-wide approaches and methods to working. Teach and coach others on best practices. Proactively engage in the external network to build arenaflex's brand and research more about business practices. **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field * Deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, data science in general * Strong programming skills in at least one of Python/R * Ability to execute projects end-to-end, including junior team members * Implement best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc. * Clearly communicate with business, product, and application partners * Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language * Ability to present to management, including outside clients **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * 6 years of experience in an analytics-related field * Experience with big data analytics, data visualization, and machine learning * Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) * Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) **What You'll Bring** As a Staff Data Scientist, you'll bring a unique combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and passion for innovation to our team.
