**Job Summary**
As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, you'll play a critical role in identifying, mitigating, and recovering from digital threats. You'll work closely with our team of experts to analyze incidents, develop quick response plans, and enhance our security measures. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in emergency management, threat assessment, and collaboration, and to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a dynamic and rapidly evolving field.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Work with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to develop high-quality technical solutions
* Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and compliance with departmental standards
* Manage timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget
* Act as a resource to ensure effective communication between business and IT groups
* Participate in system and acceptance testing
* Scope of work varies depending on the team project
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, cybersecurity, information systems)
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
* Fundamental knowledge of data security and risk management principles, theories, and practices
* Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred
* Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC) preferred
* Essential knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement is preferred
* Major understanding of project management systems including the ability to plan, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program is preferred
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders is preferred
* Fundamental knowledge of technical environment is required
* Openness to Agile philosophies is preferred
* Coursework or experience related to network security is preferred
* Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines is required
* Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year is preferred
* Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition is preferred
* Functions well in a culture that is open, direct, transparent, gracious, and empathetic
* Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience working in a cybersecurity or IT-related field
* Knowledge of threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations
* Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
* Familiarity with cloud security and compliance frameworks
* Experience with data analytics and visualization tools
* Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g. HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
