**Job Description:**
As a Lead Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that meet the needs of our business. Your primary focus will be on creating data products and data warehouses that provide valuable insights into our operations. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement data pipelines, data models, and data architectures that support our business goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Design and develop data products and data warehouses that provide valuable insights into our operations
* Plan and develop versatile data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data conditions (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
* Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flash, and Windstream, and languages include Python, Scala
* Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
* Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
* Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
* Ensure high operational productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our commitment to our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis groups)
* Be a proactive member and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure safety and cycle improvements for your team
**Key Capabilities:**
* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
* Experienced insight with distributed systems like Flash, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
* Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
* Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
* Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
* Strong in Data Modeling strategies and Data Warehousing standard practices and procedures
* Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
* You are a problem solver with strong empathy and excellent logical and relational skills
* Ideal to have experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
