**Key Responsibilities:**
* Design, build, and maintain scalable and highly available distributed systems that support our business needs
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and TPM, to drive business outcomes
* Develop and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions to support our data analytics needs
* Work with open-source communities to contribute to and leverage existing technologies and frameworks
* Participate in code reviews, ensure high-quality code, and follow careerzynith's coding standards
* Collaborate with other teams to identify and prioritize technical debt and implement solutions to address it
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering
**Focus Areas:**
* **Database Access Stage:** Design and implement a scalable and highly available database access layer that supports our microservices architecture
* **Data Stage Foundation:** Develop and maintain a common framework and tooling that enables our data teams to rapidly build and deploy data pipelines and ETL processes
* **Big Data Figure:** Design and implement a cloud-native platform for big data processing and analytics that supports our business needs
* **Big Data Arrangement:** Develop and maintain a self-serve platform for planning, organizing, and executing big data jobs and workflows
**Requirements:**
* 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems, data pipelines, and ETL processes
* Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data analytics
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or other object-oriented languages
* Experience with cloud-native platforms, such as AWS or GCP, and containerization technologies, such as Docker
* Strong understanding of distributed systems, including scalability, availability, and fault tolerance
* Experience with data storage systems, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data warehouses
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with big data processing frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
* Knowledge of data streaming technologies, such as Kafka or Kinesis
* Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
* Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring
* Experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks, such as AWS IAM or GCP IAM
