**Job Summary**
The Senior Data Engineer will contribute to careerzynith's success by working with business, analytics, and engineering teams to design and build data pipelines that enable measuring customer behavior and metrics. Collaborating across disciplines, you will identify internal and external data sources, design table schemas, define ETL pipelines, and implement automated data quality checks.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements (40%)
* Work with engineering teams to gather required data from internal and external systems (20%)
* Design table schemas and define ETL pipelines to build performant data solutions that are reliable and flexible in a rapidly evolving data ecosystem (20%)
* Develop and maintain ETL schedules using ETL and orchestration tools like Apache Beam (10%)
* Execute database operations using tools like DBeaver (5%)
* Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed (5%)
* Perform SQL and ETL tuning as needed (5%)
**Essential Qualifications**
* 2+ years of relevant data engineering experience
* Strong understanding of data modeling principles, including layered modeling and data standardization
* Excellent understanding of SQL engines and ability to lead advanced performance tuning
* Ability to think critically, analyze, and interpret market and customer data
* Strong communication skills - written and verbal presentations
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Willingness to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
* Knowledge of Agile Scrum principles and practices
**Preferred Qualifications**
* 2+ years of experience implementing and monitoring business key performance indicators in data warehousing environments
* 2+ years of experience using scientific SQL, working with traditional relational databases or distributed systems (Snowflake or Redshift)
* 2+ years of experience programming languages (e.g., Python, PySpark)
* 2+ years of experience with data organization/ETL tools (Apache Beam, Nifi)
* Experience with Snowflake, Databricks/EMR/Flume, or Apache Beam
