Job Summary The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. This includes planning and developing data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Big Data environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data products. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the design and development of data products and data distribution centers, focusing on data examination and information science. Plan and develop flexible data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid). Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flink, and Windstream, with languages including Python, Scala. Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops. Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions. Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance. Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our commitment to our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams). Be an active participant and advocate of agile/scrum practices to ensure well-being and cycle improvements for your team. Key Capabilities Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets. Experience with distributed systems like Flink, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data. Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala. Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e., Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines. Strong knowledge of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures. Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches.
