Our team is passionate about innovation and is always looking for new ways to improve our processes and deliver better results. **Job Summary** As a Senior Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data systems that drive business value. You will work closely with our data science and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. You will be responsible for: * Designing and building data pipelines in Scala and Python/Flash to handle large datasets and meet uptime SLAs * Developing adaptable solutions using ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) * Implementing Lakehouse engineering to move towards a Lakehouse-driven data stage * Collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts to design, execute, and deliver effective data solutions * Maintaining detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance * Ensuring high functional proficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Analytics groups) * Participating in agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and collaboration improvements for your team * Identifying and solving problems; researching and organizing to find solutions * Seeking out answers to business questions and looking for opportunities to automate processes and streamline costs * Engaging with and understanding our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and focus on both innovative new offerings and steady platform enhancements **Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience * Strong algorithmic thinking ability * Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets * Active experience with distributed systems, such as Spark and PySpark, to query and handle data * Strong skills in Scala and Python programming * Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (ideally Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) * Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e. Apache Beam) and writing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks * Experience in data modeling procedures and data warehousing standard practices and approaches * Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team towards a common goal **What We Offer** * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team * Collaborative and inclusive work environment * Professional development and growth opportunities * Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options * Access to cutting-edge technology and tools * Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance **How to Apply** If you are a motivated and skilled data engineer looking for a new challenge, please submit your application, including your resume and a cover letter, to [insert contact information].
