About the Role We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for determining and reporting on merchant discount income, driving normalization and process improvement, and performing ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights. This is a remote opportunity, and you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere. Key Responsibilities Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change. Develop merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region. Drive normalization and process improvement among the different regional pricing groups for all reporting and forecasting related activities. Support external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing groups that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions. Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles. A Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in finance/Accounting/Business. High proficiency with Excel is required. Solid attention to detail and organization. Solid analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large set of financial data. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required. Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. A strong relationship with the team and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives. A strong work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which puts a premium on driving results. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a remote team environment. Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques. Experience with project management tools and methodologies. A certification in finance or accounting, such as CFA or CPA.
