We are now seeking an experienced Faculty Development Specialist to join our team and contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning across OHSU's academic programs. Job Overview The Faculty Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting online learning experiences in collaboration with instructors. This role requires a strong background in educational technology, instructional design, and online teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have a passion for facilitating student learning through state-of-the-art instructional practices and technology use. As a key member of the TLC team, the Faculty Development Specialist will provide consultations, workshops, and support to educators, sharing research findings on best practices in instructional technology to enhance student learning. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with instructors to develop course sites for the School of Nursing (SON) and other academic programs Design, develop, and deliver workshops on effective pedagogical practices and instructional technology use Provide consultations and assist in the development of learning goals and instructional strategies Guide and assist faculty in special request course design or redesign requests Contribute to scholarship through presentations, written work, and other forms of academic output Collaborate with team members in the TLC to develop programming and services supporting exemplary instruction Provide administrative and technical support for relevant technology supporting student learning Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Master's degree in Education or a related field, with a preferred emphasis on instructional technology, instructional design, and/or online teaching and learning. A minimum of three years of related work experience is required, along with documented teaching or training experience, preferably in higher education. The ideal candidate will have proficiency with learning management systems and other technologies that support learning, as well as excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience conducting workshop/training sessions for professionals Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an equitable and inclusive faculty, staff, and student environment Demonstrated understanding of learning theories and commitment to quality and innovation in teaching and learning Experience with educational technology, instructional design, and online teaching and learning Skills and Competencies The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple university stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills are essential, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
