About the Role As a Dishwasher and Porter, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our Foodservice Department. Your attention to detail and commitment to our high standards will ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. Key Responsibilities Regularly collect and dispose of all food-related and recyclable waste/trash Perform warewashing duties per safety guidelines, including dishmachine and three-compartment pot sink Clean and maintain carts and kitchen equipment using proper techniques and cleaning solutions Comply with internal policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements/standards regarding kitchen safety and sanitation Transport carts, deliver meal trays, or pick up meal trays from assigned areas as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: No degree or specific education required Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued: Previous experience in a foodservice or healthcare environment Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures Ability to work effectively in a team environment Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to demonstrate: Accountability and responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe environment Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on patient and family-centered care Strong hand hygiene and kitchen sanitation practices Ability to respond to change and adapt to new situations Commitment to upholding our Standards of Behavior Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Memorial Healthcare System, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
