Job Overview The Director of Data Science position at blithequark will lead the Global Data Strategy group within Risk Finance, overseeing the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to support business growth and risk management. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic analysis of blithequark credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to inform business decisions Own and manage specific data assets/packages within Risk Finance, serving as a subject matter expert and driving adoption of relevant tools and technologies Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports utilized by Risk Finance and/or business partners, offering credit-related analytical support and guidance Develop and present key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management, leveraging data-driven insights to drive business growth and risk management Build and maintain relationships across Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, and other functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation Provide decision-support with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio, enabling optimized business and risk decisions Essential Qualifications Advanced experience working with a majority of the following technologies: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1 Experience working with a sophisticated level of Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create complex models and presentations Experience in ML modeling is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques Solid financial and analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions Superior attention to detail, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work within tight timelines Must be results-driven and proactive, with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to build and maintain relationships and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve goals Master's degree in advanced mathematics or statistical discipline required, with a strong academic foundation in data science and analytics Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices, with experience working in a risk finance or related function Experience with data visualization tools and technologies, such as Tableau or Power BI, with the ability to create interactive and dynamic dashboards Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees, offering a range of training and development programs to help you achieve your career goals.
