The Data Science team at Google is responsible for providing quantitative analysis, market data, and a strategic perspective to our partners at various levels within the organization. As a member of this team, you will feature an analytics expert to your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You will weave stories with considerable belief from statistics and make key recommendations for Googlers in Engineering and Product Management.

Key Responsibilities


Conduct statistical analysis to make business or product recommendations (i.e., cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact assessment)
Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple tiers of stakeholders, developing visual displays of quantitative data
Develop and automate reports, iteratively assemble and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to recognize their business needs, formulate and complete assessments that include data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables, and presentations
Help Google focus on key decisions to enhance products and services


Essential Qualifications


Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences, etc.)
Experience working with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)
Experience articulating product questions, pulling statistics from datasets (SQL), and using statistics to attain an answer


Preferred Qualifications


Currently attending a degree program within the United States and available to work full-time for 12 weeks outside of university term time
In their penultimate academic year or returning to a post-graduate program after completion of the internship
Ability to translate assessment outcomes into business guidelines
Interest and potential to work with statistics, metrics, assessment, and developments, and a finished knowledge of measurement, statistics, and alertness assessment
Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal communication abilities, with first-rate business judgment

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000-$106,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting represents the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and additional factors, which include project-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
