Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Scientific Affairs team on a remote basis. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in producing Real-World Evidence (RWE) through advanced analytics and innovative processes in the medical trials space. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your skills in data analysis and interpretation to drive internal and external decision-making. Key Responsibilities Develop standardized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data assets or qualified systems, examine and interpret results, and help shape analytics strategy. Partner with other members of the blithequark Clinical Trial team to provide actionable insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team consumption. Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD and uncover new insights concerning patient populations and treatment outcomes. Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address clinical questions from biopharmaceutical companies. Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies. Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and easily interpretable deliverables from RWE research and analyses. Build dashboards, analytics, and reports for internal and external consumption. Conduct due diligence on new real-world data sources and power RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in a quantitative or computational field. At least 4 years of experience in a quantitative or computational role. 4 years of experience in R, Python, or SQL. Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational studies with healthcare data. Knowledge of common statistical testing techniques, including generalized linear models, classification and discrimination, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis. Experience processing large data from diverse data sources. Experience handling protected patient health information. Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI intelligence tools. Preferred Qualifications To stand out as a candidate, you will ideally have: A Ph.D. or Master's degree in data/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases. Expertise in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode). Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence research or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR). Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods of clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions. Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics. Understanding of data and systems learning techniques, with the ability to maintain self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
