We're now seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Scientific Affairs team and contribute to the development of Real-World Evidence (RWE) through advanced analytics and progressive processes. Job Summary As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll play a vital role in producing RWE by applying superior analytics and data science techniques to drive internal and external decision-making. You'll work closely with the Clinical Trial team to provide actionable insights from real-world data, clinical trials, and other sources. Your expertise will help shape our analytics strategy, inform business decisions, and drive the development of innovative healthcare solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain standardized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data sources or certified systems, and interpret results to inform business decisions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights from real-world data, clinical trials, and other sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests Design, develop, and maintain integrated data lakes for future analysis and broader team consumption Perform data mining and statistical analysis to uncover new insights on patient populations and treatment outcomes Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address clinical questions from biopharmaceutical companies Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and easily interpretable deliverables from RWE research and analyses Build dashboards, analytics, and reports for internal and external consumption Conduct due diligence on new real-world data sources and power RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in a quantitative or computational field At least 4 years of experience in a quantitative or computational role 4 years of experience in R, Python, or SQL Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational studies with healthcare data Knowledge of common statistical testing techniques, including generalized linear models, classification and discrimination, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis Experience processing large data from diverse data sources Experience handling protected patient health information Knowledge of at least one Business Intelligence (BI) tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or Spotfire Preferred Qualifications To take your application to the next level, consider the following preferred qualifications: A Ph.D. or Master's degree in data/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases Knowledge of clinical data standards, medical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode) Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence research or clinical trials Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods of clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics Understanding of data and systems learning techniques, with the ability to maintain self-learning of technical and non-technical skills What We Offer At blithequark, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Company-Paid Life Insurance Medical, Prescription Drugs, Dental, and Vision coverage Retirement Savings Plan – 401(k) Employee Stock Purchase Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Holidays Paid Parental Leave (PPL) Transportation Benefit Plan Employee Store Discount Voluntary Life & Personal Accident Insurance Career Growth and Development As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll have opportunities to grow and develop your skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.
