About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team at arenaflex. As a Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of product development, working with cross-functional teams to drive product vision and advance measurement strategy through new metrics, systemic approaches, and deep-dive analyses. You will collaborate with different data scientists, data and analytics specialists, and business teams to identify, incubate, and enable product innovations using robust measurement techniques (analysis, experimentation, modeling) and agile tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Drive product development through robust measurement techniques across experimentation, modeling, and analysis, as well as tooling
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to shape the vision of a space, whether that is by determining a product strategy or defining new metrics
Develop experimentation and measurement strategies to increase the speed of projects and help complex navigation
Work with ownership and accountability by ensuring that the team is delivering consistent and high-quality results that impact the decisions and direction of product insight
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Develop and maintain large-scale data systems and architectures
Communicate complex technical ideas and results to both technical and non-technical audiences


Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics)
At least four years of experience applying statistical and numerical concepts to drive decisions at scale
Strong statistical skills and instinct, and applied experience solving problems in consumer-facing product areas
Proficiency in SQL and statistical programming (Python and/or R)
Passion for driving product vision and development strategy by using a wide range of techniques and building strong partnerships with stakeholders
Strong product sense to balance between addressing partner or test-specific requirements and investing in flexible solutions to serve general use cases
Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Comfort with uncertainty; ability to thrive with minimal oversight and interaction


Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., master's or Ph.D.)
Experience working with large-scale data systems and architectures
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
Experience working in an agile development environment
