About the Team Our Analytics group is a dynamic and collaborative team of data scientists and analysts who work together to tackle complex business challenges. We're organized into several sub-teams, each focused on a specific area of the business, including Consumer & Growth, Business Operations, Dasher & Logistics, Customer Experience & Integrity, Merchant, Ads & Sales, New Verticals, and International Data Science. As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll have the opportunity to work across these teams and contribute to a wide range of projects that impact our business. About the Role As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll be responsible for using your quantitative expertise to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns and trends, and develop insights that inform our business decisions. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and develop solutions that drive impact. Your responsibilities will include: Using quantitative analysis and data visualization to uncover insights and drive business decisions Building full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools Mentoring junior analysts on advanced techniques and problem-solving strategies Developing recommendations and using statistical methods and hypothesis testing to validate findings Providing insights to business and product leaders to help them understand market dynamics, customer behaviors, and long-term trends Identifying and measuring key metrics and developing executive-facing dashboards to track progress Collaborating with engineering to implement, document, validate, and monitor logging and analytics solutions Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field 4+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related role Experience working with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, regression models, etc. Expertise in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g. hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages, such as Matlab, R, SAS or Python Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g. Chartio, Looker, Tableau) The ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques Experience with data engineering and data warehousing Strong communication and collaboration skills Why You'll Love Working at blithequark At blithequark, we're committed to creating a work environment that's collaborative, innovative, and rewarding.
