**Job Summary**
As a Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports data on our platforms. You'll work closely with our data team to identify and resolve data discrepancies, and collaborate with our content team to develop engaging stories and features. This is a part-time position that requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of sports data on our platforms, including television broadcasts, digital media, and social channels
* Work in individual settings and in groups to deliver precise detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other measurements and data in real-time to power a wide range of ESPN items and productions
* Create and maintain a working knowledge of the role of Details and Data in fueling ESPN digital items and television productions
* Review the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of quality and attention to detail
* Contribute to the development of new ideas, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders in coordinating full- and part-time staff
* Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose possible solutions; communicate rapidly and clearly with colleagues on these issues
* Play an active role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes
* Participate actively in team and division meetings
* Seek and respond to feedback on personal performance
* Stay up-to-date on current office policies and procedures
**Required Capabilities**
* Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games
* Full-time availability, including evenings (only), weekends, and holidays
* Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives ESPN's digital and television items
* Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances
* Ability to communicate confidently – verbally and in writing – to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in the midst of a busy newsroom
**Preferred Capabilities**
* 1+ years of experience working in sports or potentially data analysis, ideally in media
* Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes
* Working knowledge of ESPN items and productions
* Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
* Experience leading or training a team
* Ability to speak and write Spanish
* Experience using social media in a business or news environment
**Required Education**
* High school diploma or equivalent
**Preferred Education**
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
