We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Specialist to join our Details and Data Gathering team, working on a part-time basis. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of sports information on our various platforms, including television broadcasts, websites, and mobile apps. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will help us deliver precise, timely, and insightful sports information to our fans worldwide. **Job Summary:** As a Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for entering and maintaining accurate sports data, including scores, schedules, standings, and statistics, on our various platforms. You'll work closely with our automated data feeds and manual data entry processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality sports information. Your expertise will help us transform data into compelling stories, highlighting key events and trends that shape the sports world. **Key Responsibilities:** * Ensure the accuracy of sports information disseminated by Details and Data, including scores, schedules, standings, and statistics. * Work independently and in teams to deliver precise and timely detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other measurements and data that power our various ESPN products and productions. * Create and maintain a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling ESPN's digital products and television productions. * Conduct quality checks on your own work and that of others, maintaining a consistently high level of attention to detail. * Contribute to the development of new projects, tasks, and initiatives across the newsroom, supporting newsroom leaders in coordinating full- and part-time staff. * Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose solutions, communicating effectively with colleagues on these matters. * Play an active role in collaborating with colleagues to refine and improve production processes. * Participate actively in team and division meetings. * Seek and respond to feedback on personal performance. * Stay up-to-date with current office policies and procedures. **Required Capabilities:** * Working knowledge of sports teams, players, and game rules. * Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Ability to quickly learn production processes that generate or maintain sports data driving ESPN's digital and television products. * Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments. * Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in the midst of a busy newsroom. **Preferred Capabilities:** * 1+ years of experience in sports or data analysis, preferably in media. * Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and research contexts. * Familiarity with ESPN products and productions. * Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools. * Experience leading or training a team. * Ability to speak and write Spanish. * Experience using social media in a business or news context. **Required Education:** * High school diploma or equivalent. **Preferred Education:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent. **Additional Information:** * This position involves working late shifts, weekends, and holidays. * arenaflex is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
