**Key Responsibilities**
As a Data Entry Operator 2 at careerzynith, you will be responsible for:
* Operating data entry or data verification equipment to check for accuracy and sufficiency of data and making corrections or adjustments as needed
* Operating keyboard on data entry equipment, such as key-to-disk, tape, or card, video display terminal, or electric typewriter
* Performing clerical tasks related to data processing, including proofreading, filing, distributing and mailing output, coding and totaling data, maintaining entry logs, sorting and filing
* Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data entry processes, including identifying and correcting errors
* Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data security protocols
* Collaborating with team members to resolve data-related issues and improve processes
**Major Worker Characteristics**
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as office practices and procedures
* Skill in operating data entry equipment, including peripheral machines such as scanners and printers
* Ability to proofread material, recognize errors, and make corrections; read, copy, and record figures; check pairs of items that are similar or dissimilar; move limbs, fingers easily to perform manual functions repeatedly
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
**Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment**
To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following minimum class qualifications:
* Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary
* 6 months training or 6 months experience in the use of data entry equipment in Ohio
* Department of Job and Family Services, Wage Record Department, in addition to preceding option, applicant must have a minimum of 10,000 net key strokes per hour on an alpha-numeric keyboard
* Or 4 mos. experience as Data Entry Operator 1, 12331; in Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Wage Record Department, in addition to preceding option, applicant must have a minimum of 10,000 net key strokes per hour on an alpha-numeric keyboard
* Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
**Training and Development Required to Remain in the Classification After Employment**
No training or development is required to remain in this classification after employment.
**Unusual Working Conditions**
This role may involve working evening or night shifts, and may require operating data entry equipment for long periods of time, including exposure to constant, low-level noise.
