**Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Clerk/Mail Handler to join our team on a 3-6 month contract basis. As a Data Entry Clerk/Mail Handler, you'll be responsible for preparing batches of work, inputting data into our system, operating high-speed imaging equipment, and verifying checks. **Responsibilities**
As a Data Entry Clerk/Mail Handler, your key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing batches of work by removing payments and forms from envelopes
* Inputting data into our system while following standard operating procedures and customer-specific instructions for processing
* Operating high-speed imaging equipment to capture and verify check images
* Verifying checks through customer-specific instructions for processing
* Matching check images to corresponding material while validating the quality of images
* Maintaining productivity and quality standards
* Contributing to meeting team goals in addition to individual responsibilities
* Working in all areas/departments of production as needed
* Making judgment calls regarding routine duties, but referring non-routine situations to a supervisor and/or manager
**Essential Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
* 1 year of experience in data entry (preferred)
* 1 year of experience as a mail sorter (preferred)
* Ability to type at least 40 words per minute (WPM)
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
**Preferred Qualifications**
While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:
* Experience working with high-speed imaging equipment
* Knowledge of data entry software and systems
* Experience working in a production environment
* Certification in data entry or a related field
